NC Unidentified Project When you are born you are given a name, that name is your identity from the time you are born and acknowledges your identity forever even after you are deceased. Our name is our identity which is a basic human right that allows us as human beings, to enjoy all of our human rights as a society.

In February 2020, Leslie Kaufman partnered with Dr. Ann Ross, Forensic Anthropologist, Department of Human Identification at NCSU to assist in the identification of North Carolina's 129 unidentified persons. Dr. Ross received a state grant that provided funding for the first phase of this project. We are currently working to obtain additional funding to continue the next phase of this project.
